...Texarkana has a State certified law enforcement training facility?

The Texarkana, TX Police Department is one of only 183 certified Training Providers in Texas and the only one in northeast Texas. 

The Department recently underwent a year-long evaluation process to meet the Texas Commission On Law Enforcement’s strict requirements of becoming a certified State Training Provider.  Following a series of on-site inspections and audits, the Department received the coveted certification in November. Training classes offered here will be available to all area law enforcement agencies, which is expected to help meet regional training needs at a reduced cost to cities and counties.

The City of Texarkana Texas acquired the abandoned National Guard Armory at 1420 South Park Road for one dollar in 2009. The facility has been upgraded and has become the police department’s hub for in-service training, special operations personnel, and a host site for basic police officer academies.
